Idaho March for Science

Idaho March for Science

In Idaho, we recognize the value of scientific research and fact-based knowledge acquired by objective scientific methods. Science affects all people, regardless of occupation, beliefs, or political affiliation. Recent rhetoric and events that restrict scientists from communicating their research and scientific findings are a cause of concern to the future of our nation. The Idaho March for Science will strive to defend fact-based science and recognize the science that affects Idahoans. On April 22, fittingly Earth Day, we will join the national demonstration in defense of our extraordinary community and its place in society.

This will be a protest to fight against the lies of President Trump. He is unwilling to release his tax returns, but not without saying that he will do so come the right time. Well he is our President now, which means he works for the people, and we have a right to know who we are hiring. Join us and spread the word! Public Lands Rally

Public Lands Rally

Come show your support for public lands! Calling all Idahoans who love their public lands, let's rally in support to show our state and federal leaders that public lands belong to everyone.

Idaho's national forests and public lands are treasures that belong to all Idahoans and all Americans. Some Idaho politicians want to ignore that fact. Today, Idaho politicians are making a grab to control and sell off Idaho's most treasured landscapes. Idaho's public lands —Hells Canyon, the Sawtooths, the Frank Church or Selway-Bitterrot Wilderness Areas — are not for sale.

Idahoans do not want to see our public lands auctioned off to the highest bidder. These are YOUR lands. Don't let politicians make a grab for them.

HUDDLE Action #2

Next Up Huddles are part of the 10 Actions for the First 100 Days campaign, which launched at the Women’s March, and will mobilize millions to win back the country and world we want.

We’ll visualize what a more equitable, just, safer and freer world could look like four years from now -- and we’ll work backwards to figure out what we need to do, starting today, to get there. Huddles are meant to be positive, inclusive, action-oriented and grounded in the tradition of nonviolent resistance.

The Campaign

10 ACTIONS / 100 DAYS

We did it! On January 21, over 5 Million of us worldwide and over 1 Million in Washington, D.C., came to march, speak and make our voices heard. But it doesn’t end here - now is not the time to hang up our marching shoes - it’s time to get our friends, family and community together and make history.

Every 10 days we will take action on an issue we all care about.

Idaho School Walk Out and Rally

We're calling on students to rally with us at the steps of the Idaho State Capitol building.

Students and all other participants will meet at the Idaho State Capitol Building.

In coordination with the National Women's March Organization's General Strike, high school and college students will walk out of class to show their disapproval of the confirmation of Betsy DeVos and to show thier support for women's civil rights.

The power of the government is granted by the people and we are walking out to remind elected and appointed officials that they are responsible for representing our interests.

Betsy DeVos has no public school education experience, has never attended a public school, and her children have never attended public school. There has never been a Secretary of Education with this lack of experience. We need to show her that we are watching and will take action if she tries to violate our right to a public education.
